PRESS RELEASE

Through new investigations in painting and installation, Jennings continues to explore sentiments of existence upon astral planes. Historically, concepts and theories of astral planes have been linked to both mysticism and metaphysics, with a locus of the intangible.

Notions of beyond the physical are frequently situated in Jennings' practice, often utilizing surrealist strategies and forms of thought. Additionally, the societal double bind of being seen and not in reference to one's identity and concepts of social death elicit the work.

It’s through an active synthesis of thought and form that the works in Peekaboo propel into perceptual modalities akin to spirits, depicting realities just beyond reach.
